Our Bultaco 250 Pursang test bike was pictured in action on the cover
of Cycle News 50 years ago... We had full coverage of the Prospectors
Goldrush Enduro from Ballinger Canyon in California. Scorecards
hadn't been tallied yet, but we did tell our readers what it was like
to ride the race... We also had coverage of the Shell 200 Miles of
Imola Road Race, where the top American racers took on the top
Europeans. Finland's Jarno Saarinen took the win. Cal Rayborn was
top American.

We pictured our 1983 Suzuki RM500 on the cover 40 years ago... We
had coverage of the Las Vegas 400. Scot Harden and Larry Roeseler
combined eŒorts to get the win... We had spy photos from Sweden of
Husqvarna's first water-cooled 250 CR motocrosser... Kent Howerton,
riding a Kawasaki, won the 500cc National Motocross at Gatorback.
Mark Barnett won the 125cc class... Larry Brooks, Bader Manneh
and Willie Surratt were the top guns at the NMA World Mini GP at
Saddleback... John Lampkin won the Wagner Cup World Trials round in
Texas.
