"In the main event I got a
holeshot from the outside gate,"
Deegan said. "I've been doing a
lot of practice starts. It was cool
to lead a lap, finally. That's been
one of my goals, so it was good
to check that one off. It's noth
-
ing too crazy because I did that
a lot as an amateur, so it wasn't
something where I got there and
panicked."

Deegan rounded out the
podium with another third-place
finish, his third one of the year.
The Supercross rookie grabbed
his first career holeshot and is
credited with leading the first
two laps. After battling with
Smith and Lawrence, Deegan
settled in for a strong third-place
result. His consistency is being
rewarded this year as the 238
now sits second in the 250SX
