Tomac won again in the final race of
the night, leading every lap of the 12-min-
ute sprint. Consistent 1-2-1 finishes gave
him the clear advantage in the overall
rankings. With this clutch late-season
win, Tomac now sits seven points ahead
of Webb and positions himself as the
second winningest Supercross rider of
all time at 51. Jeremy McGrath leads the
way with 72.
"It was all about the starts for me
tonight," said Tomac. "All three motos
were really solid. I had a lot of pressure
in the races that I won and obviously
Chase rode great in moto two. This was
good for me. The first two Triple Crowns
were not good for me, I crashed in both
of those events so my goal today was to
not crash in any of the motos."
Sexton found a bit of redemption on
Saturday night after crashing out of the
lead back in Seattle. The Honda rider
kept it upright in all three main events
and even took the race win at the sec
-
ond checkered flag. He found himself
in a battle for most of the night, claim-
ing fourth in the final turn of race one,

2 COOPER WEBB
4TH 450SX (2-5-4)
Cooper Webb started the night strong
but ultimately finished fourth overall
and lost the points lead. "I was equal
to third in points on the night, but was
fourth overall given my last race fin-
ishing place, and with 2-5-4 finishes,"
he said. These Triple Crown races
can really swing either way when it
comes to points—be really good to
you or be costly in points if you let
them. In the first race, I rode pretty
well and was battling up front for
second place, but I just didn't ride that
great in the second and third races,
made too many little mistakes and
passing was really tough, which cost
me the overall podium. I think things
will be a lot better in Atlanta next
week—I really like racing in ATL."
33 PIERCE BROWN
4TH 250SX (4-4-5)
Pierce Brown looked fast all day and
finished just off the podium in fourth.
"I had three consistent mains, but
they weren't good enough to satisfy
me," he said. "I was a little bit off
with my intensity. I struggled in the
whoops all three mains, and that's
what dictated the night."
MYOWNRACE
Tomac kept the
competition at bay
to reclaim sole
possession of the
red plate.
Chase Sexton battled
all night. Here, he
overtakes Ken Roczen
