Bou Wins In France
B
ordeaux (France) hosted
the fourth round of the X-
Trial World Championship at the
packed Arkéa Arena, April 8. The
French city witnessed Repsol
Honda's Toni Bou's third victory
this season.
Bou made a comeback after
incurring a five-point penalty
in the first zone. These points
would make him classify as the
second-best rider from the first
round. However Bou registered
the best time on the second lap,
to go through to the final. There,
he made a mistake again on
the first section but held on for
victory.
Bou finished out the main
event with eight points dropped,
which was four better than the
12 lost by TRRS rider Adam
Raga.
"All of our rivals pushed a
lot from the first round," Bou
said. "In the final, we all made
mistakes, especially on the first
zone. These things that can hap
-
pen, and the important thing is
that we were able to improve. We
were very nervous, but we were
able to get a very important vic-
tory. The first half of the season
closes with three wins and a
second position, but everything
was very tight; I am very happy
with the result and with the work
from the team."
Raga was tied on points with
GasGas rider Jaime Busto at 12,
but the runner-up position went
to Raga, with Busto rounding out
the podium in third.
With half of the season over,
Bou has a comfortable 29-point
lead over Busto. Bou's teammate
Gabriel Marcelli, fifth in France, is
currently third in the champion
-
ship, 13 points behind Busto.
