Peters Stamps Arenacross Season
K
yle Peters put a dominant
stamp on the 2023 AMA
Arenacross Series with another
clean sweep at the series finale,
round 14, in Lexington, Kentucky,
April 1. He caps off the year
with an 82-point lead over series
runner-up Kyle Bitterman.
In Kentucky, the AMA Aren
-
across Series and the GT Aren-
across Series ran as one, which
pitted the top riders of each
against each other. Peters (AMA)
and Michael Hicks (GT), the two
series' best, got the chance to go
head to head.
But in main one, it was busi
-
ness as usual for Peters, who
got off to a good start over the
Arenacross regulars. The Phoe-
nix Racing Honda rider took the
win over Jared Lesher and Pres-
ton Taylor. Hicks finished fourth.
Race two put Peters on the
back row, while Hicks started up
front on row one. This allowed
Hicks to pull a great start and get
out front early, while Peters had
to work his way through the pack.
Peters eventually caught up to
Hicks late in the race and things
got exciting. Ultimately, Peters
was able to make the pass on
Hicks to complete the sweep.
"I was excited to race [Hicks],"
Peters said. "I think second
mains are really where I shine,
and I'm stoked to close it out this
way with a sweep. Definitely a
stamp to end the season."
