Bradl To Test Kalex Chassis
For Repsol Honda
H
onda's dire MotoGP fortunes
have seen the manufacturer
take the unprecedented step of
employing Kalex to develop a
new chassis for them in MotoGP.
At Jerez, April 3-4, test rider
Stefan Bradl will evaluate a new
chassis from the German com
-
pany that has dominated the
Moto2 Championship since its
inception, taking every champi
-
onship bar the first in 2010 when
Toni Elias triumphed for Mori-
waki and in 2012 when Marc
Marquez took the gold for Suter.
The season has so far been a
complete disaster for Honda in
MotoGP with Marquez crashing
into Miguel Oliveira in Portugal
and suffering a hand injury,
ruling him out of the recent
Argentine Grand Prix. Team
-
mate Joan Mir crashed out of
the Sprint Race in Portugal, took
11th in the Sunday Grand Prix
but crashed out of the Sprint
Race in Argentina and suffered a
concussion, meaning no factory
Honda appeared for the Sunday
Grand Prix.
The leading Honda rider in
the standings is currently Alex
Rins on the LCR entry in 12th at
13 points, a massive 37 points
behind leader Marco Bezzecchi.
Bradl's evaluation could lead
to a wholesale change of chas-
sis for Repsol Honda starting
at the upcoming Red Bull Grand
Prix of The Americas in two
weeks' time.
