Scaysbrook, Sabora Head Back To The Isle Of Man C ycle News's own Road Test Editor Rennie Scaysbrook will return to the Isle of Man TT Races in 2023, as he steps up to the 1000cc classes with the Wilson Craig Honda team. The Australian, a TT debu - tante last year, will move up to the 1000cc classes and to ride a Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade in the RST Superbike, RL360 Su - perstock and Milwaukee Senior TT Races. The 2019 Pikes Peak Interna- tional Hill Climb winner and out- right record holder, Scaysbrook, made his TT debut last year riding with the PRF Racing team in the Supersport class and although qualifying week was fraught with problems, he more than impressed with an average lap speed of over 117mph. "Moving up from Supersport to Superbike means I'll pretty much be learning the course again—new braking markers, new riding style, jumps in places that weren't jumps on the 600, all that sort of stuff," Scaysbrook said. "But it's exciting, and it's pretty amazing to already be riding with a team with such a great history at the TT." Scaysbrook will team with Northern Ireland's Matthew Rees, who will contest not only the 1000cc classes, but also the Supersport and Supertwins events. "Rennie's story is great. He's clearly a really talent - ed racer given his success at Pikes Peak and how well he did in his debut year despite the issues he had. I'm excited to see how we can help him progress this year," said Wilson Craig Racing Team Owner Darren Gilpin. "In Matthew, we've got a young but experi - enced guy who I think we've yet to see the best of. I know he's had his fair share of bike issues, particularly on the 1000cc bikes over the years, which means we've not seen his true potential. We'll be putting a great set of bikes together for him, preseason testing has been good so far, so we're excited to get going." Rennie will be joined at the TT by American Chris Sabora, the Texan-based rider on the PRL/ Moto-Hub BMW S 1000 RR. "It was great to be back at the Isle of Man last year but with the step up to 1000cc, things change a bit," said Sabora. "I am really looking forward to this year's TT. I'm aiming to become the fastest American to ever lap the Mountain Course, an honor that has been held by Mark Miller since 2012."
