championship. He's down by 35
points but still mathematically in
the hunt for the 250SX East title.
"I'm going to have to ride a
perfect race to win," Thrasher
said. "I don't really look at the
position, it's the same amount
of points. Tonight, we lost points
to the leader so that's all I really
look at."
Star Racing Yamaha's Haiden
Deegan landed on the box for
the second time in his rookie
season, matching his career-
best finish. His solid podium
didn't come without some
scrutiny as a run-in with Star
Racing teammate Jordon Smith
put Smith on the ground and
into the LCQ. Deegan rubbed
elbows again in the main event
and battled with class-veteran
Jeremy Martin before solidifying
his spot in third. Despite being a
rookie, Deegan's shown con
-
sistency all year and now finds
himself
third in the champion-
ship points, just five back from
second
place Thrasher.
"I was just up there battling,"
Deegan said regarding the heat-
race incident. "I want to win just
as bad as everyone else, no mat-
ter if it's a heat race or a main, I
want to
win."
