Roczen. Webb's consistency is paying off. While he says he "got his ass kicked," his main title rivals, Eli Tomac and Chase Sex- ton, had their share of struggles, finishing eighth and 10th, respectively. Their misfortune boosted Webb into the champi - onship lead as he takes the red plate by one point over Tomac. "It's tough without seeing it [the red plate] on there," Webb said. "It's a weird emotion because I feel like I got my ass kicked but we also got the red plate, so that's a good feeling. And it's a good time to get it. I feel like I've always been strong at this point during the year. It's going to be a battle but I'm hop - ing we can keep it on for the rest of the year." As for former series leader Tomac, the Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha team rider just couldn't jell with the rutted track and seemed off all night. He ended up eighth after getting off to an 11th-place start. "It was a tough one today," Tomac said.
