with 21 laps to go. Both got up
and back in the race with dam-
aged machines.
A lap later, the race began to
take what many people thought
would be its final shape. Her
-
rin and Escalante had by now
ditched Hayes and came into the
pits for their final stops together,
they emerged in third and fourth
but were quickly promoted to
first and second as Hayes, Eslick
and Brandon Paasch came in for
fuel and tires.
it would be Herrin, Escalante and
Hayes that would break free of
Hayden Gillim (Disrupt Racing
Yamaha) and Eslick, who would
suffer the fate of a cross-thread
-
ed front axle which meant he
would do the entire race on the
same front tire he started with, an
incredible accomplishment given
his eventual eighth-place finish.
With 25 laps to go, Jacobsen
lost the front of his Yamaha in
the infield section after having
closed down Eslick with his race
seemingly done for, and Gillim
would likewise do the same

"The lead group got a little bit of a gap
on me and that was pretty much it,"
said Cameron Peterson of the early
part of the race. "We were forced to
do three pit stops this race, which
kind of put us a lap down. Lucky
enough, my tires were pretty fresh. I
think the lap the red flag came out, I
was able to un-lap myself. So again,
I got super lucky. But I don't really
know. Going into those last 10 laps,
I had no idea where I was. Nobody
told me anything. So, I just put my
head down and tried to ride as fast as
I could. Once again, I just got beat to
the line."

tion because I just know how good
the bike is when it's all there like we
developed it," Kyle Wyman said. "To
