riding with good intensity and I felt great. I was able to push through and the crowd was amazing. They were going crazy the whole time and at the end of the race my adrenaline was going." Thrasher, who won last week's 250SX East triple crown in Texas, ended up having a tough night. After going down, he was 20th entering lap two and quickly made his way through the pack before crash - ing again while running 10th and finding himself in 20th all over again. He never gave up and ended up crossing the finish line in 10th place, nearly a lap down. Jordon Smith and Jeremy Martin rounded out the top five. Anstie said. "I'm milking this 250 class until I get kicked out. I like getting on the podium, and I like getting those bonus checks." Haiden Deegan, of the Mon - ster Energy Star Racing Yamaha Team, made a statement by scor- ing his first career podium, and doing so at arguably the tough- est race of the year. It was the 17-year-old's fourth professional start. Deegan rode like a sea- soned pro and held off a number of former race winners to take the final spot on the box. There was an insurmountable 15-second gap from Deegan to Anstie. "I didn't get the greatest start," Deegan said. "But I was able to make my way into third. The track's tough, but I was rider. "I just kind of dove to the inside and I didn't feel contact. Obviously, it's not the ideal scenario, but you see a shot and you're making split decisions." Max Anstie, on the Fire Power Honda, found himself on the box, his second runner-up this season. The British veteran was credited with the holeshot and let the Daytona carnage work in his favor. While others suffered mis - takes and crashes, Anstie kept it consistent and rode a lonely but solid second for much of the race, crossing nine seconds back from Lawrence. With this podium Anstie bumps to second in the 250SX East championship. "We want to try and improve and close that gap to Hunter," ROUND 8 / MARCH, 4 2023 DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY / DAYTONA, FLORIDA SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS / SUPERMOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P74 Max Anstie scored his second runner- up of the year.
