250SX EAST
After looking less-than-pleased
with third last weekend in
Arlington, Honda HRC's Hunter
Lawrence came to Daytona with
a score to settle. He set the
fastest qualifying time and won
his heat to kick things off. In the
main event, Lawrence put an
aggressive and decisive pass on
Nate Thrasher early in lap one
which effectively put Thrasher in
the sand. From there Lawrence
picked off the leader, Vialle, who
later crashed out, and proceeded
to lead every lap of the 250 main.
"He [Thrasher] went outside,
I was inside," Lawrence said
about the pass on the Yamaha
race then finished inside the top
10 in the main event, carding
eighth on the night.
"The main event start was
decent and I just kind of rode
my own race," Hampshire said.
"I didn't really race anyone hard
and wanted to finish in the top
10 of my first main and I did
that. I'm just really stoked on our
whole day."

pushing for that fifth spot but
came up a little bit short and
got sixth. It's a career-best for
me, so all in all, it was a great
night. Now we get ready for the
outdoors."
After a promising second in
his heat race, Roczen didn't get
the start he was hoping for and
couldn't do much with it. Roczen
held down eighth after the first
lap and was only able to move
up one position.
RJ Hampshire, who stepped
up to the 450cc class for the
first time of his career, was
spectacular on the big bike. In
his first 450cc race, he held off
