pictured in action on the cover of Cycle News 50 years ago. We billed
it as the only 250cc motocross grand prix motorcycle you can buy.
The Spanish flyer sold for $1200... We also test the Yamaha RD-350...
Pierre Karsmakers and Brad Lackey battled for supremacy again
in the Winter-AMA Motocross Series in Ft. Pierce, Florida, and the
Dutchman, Karsmakers, came out on top again... Ron Bohn won the
Stone Mtn. National Enduro in Georgia, but results weren't o"cial yet.

LOOKING BACK I
A photo of our Honda CB650 Nighthawk test bike was featured on the
cover 40 years ago... We called it the "soup-er bowl" and Mark Barnett
won it. Rain made the Atlanta Supercross a super mudder but that didn't
seem to matter to the factory-backed Suzuki rider... Mike Melton won
the Sandlapper National Enduro in South Carolina... We featured our
Daytona Bike Week preview.
