the front end than plowing into
Thrasher. "It was greasy, no one
was taking that line, thankfully
none of us went down. I was
sliding and thought, 'Ah, I'll give
it a crack.' Then I heard him seat
had a good flow going, and was
trying to save my tear-offs. The
last few laps I just kept push

ing and believing, and try to get
close and
have a shot at it."
The final corner where Law-
rence made the pass, he said he

spond and the duo drag-raced
to
the finish line, but Lawrence
held on to take the win by little
more than a wheel-length.
"Wild," Lawrence said of the
last-lap battle for the win. "Obvi

ously, I didn't plan that; it was
a Hail Mary
lap and it ended up
working out.
"There was very little decision
making, just trying to be where
he [Thrasher] wasn't," said
Lawrence of his race strategy.
"My start wasn't the best but I
could see him in the other lane
and just tried to do my best.
Lap by lap, I felt good, the bike
felt good. I just got into the
zone and didn't even realize it
was raining, so it was good not
to notice that. I was fast in the
whoops and good the sand, I
