As far as his history of mak - ing mistakes while leading, Sexton, said, "I'm going to do whatever it takes to win, if that's crashing late in the main trying to do my best, that's going to happen. I've got to fix my mis - takes, obviously." But Sexton still tried to look at the positives. "Overall, I feel like my racing and riding keeps get - ting better. Tonight was some of the best main-event riding struggled behind him. After Webb nearly went down in the whoops when he said he had to change lines due to a lapped rider, it looked to be Sexton's race. But a lap later, the same whoops that nearly took down Webb bit Sexton. "I was doing everything I could to keep Cooper behind me," Sexton said. "I basically just hit an edge [in the whoops] and...it just ping-ponged around, and I eventually lost the front end which is not good in a set of whoops. I didn't know [Webb] had a sketchy moment in the whoops the lap before. That main line was getting worse For most racers, a second in a Supercross would be a good thing, but not for Sexton, who has blown what appeared to be several certain wins in the past. Sexton grabbed the holeshot and rode several mistake-free laps while his competition Supercross. "My day was pretty good overall and I had a good heat, where I finished P3," he said. "I didn't get the best start in the main, but I was running near the front through the first few corners before I tipped over when I tried to pass a rider in the sand. I was quite far back and managed to come back through to sixth. I'm quite happy with the last few laps of the race where I made up a number of positions." 94 KEN ROCZEN 4TH 450SX After holding sixth place on the opening lap, Ken Roczen put his Suzuki into fourth place on lap five. From there Roczen had some breath- ing room on the rest of the pack and was never challenged for the spot. "My night ended really strong," he said. "We had a tough week, the team and I put in some hours. I think we finished very well here, and I was pretty stoked about it. It was a bum- mer for us not to be on the podium, but to end up with a fourth place after a long week like that, there are a lot of positives to take away." MYOWNRACE
