VOLUME ISSUE FEBRUARY , P57 yo-yo lap after lap from the deep sand section to the treacher- ous whoops. One final mistake seemed to break Sexton's chance at a win and he cruised it in, ultimately crossing the line three seconds back. "Eli really figured out the sand and that's where I lost a lot of time every lap," Sexton said. "Every time I'd get through the sand, I'd try to make up time throughout the rest of the track. It just wasn't really working. Other than that, I rode pretty well. I wasn't making a lot of mistakes, just struggling in the sand section." Jason Anderson backed up his A2 performance with an - other podium in Houston. The Kawasaki rider started within podium reach early on but battled with Aaron Plessinger to hold onto the final spot on the box. After getting by Pless- inger, Anderson managed to put five seconds on the KTM rider and rode the rest of the race in a relatively lonely third place. This is the kind of consistency we expected from Anderson this season and back-to-back podiums put him fourth in the championship. "I think any time you can be up on the podium is something to be excited about," Anderson RED FLAG The 450SX main event was subject to a restart after Dylan Ferrandis hit the deck and was unconscious for nearly three minutes. Luckily, Ferrandis says he's doing okay. "I'm okay after my crash in [the] main event," he said the next day on social media. "I hit my head and got knocked out for some minutes. Everything else is fine and I am okay now. Will follow the concus- sion protocol and will see when I can ride again." ROOKIES Several racers made their Super- cross rookie debuts at Houston. Haiden Deegan, Chance Hymas, Talon Hawkins, Tom Vialle, Caden Braswell, Gage Linville and Larry Reyes all got their first real taste of Supercross racing. Deegan, Hymas and Vialle all finished in the top 10 with Hawkins in 11th. Briefly... (Left) Winner Tomac, Sexton and Anderson celebrate on the 450SX podium.
