Bolt Sweeps Budapest SuperEnduro
H
usqvarna's Billy Bolt contin-
ues to dominate the 2023
FIM SuperEnduro World Cham-
pionship, this time in Budapest,
Hungary, February 4.
Bolt, the defending champion,
won all three feature races,
which includes the reverse-start
race two. And, also collected the
SuperPole race win.
"With three wins and topping
SuperPole, it was a great night at
the office," the Brit said. "I knew
my speed was good from the
off, but in the first two races I
seemed to keep tripping myself
up. I would get into the lead and
then just make a mistake or
judge the lapped traffic wrong.
Thankfully I was able to recover
each time, but I really wanted to
do better. I feel like race three
was my best of the night. Mis
-
takes were minimal and I was
able to ride my lines with confi-
dence. It was a great way to end
the night!"
Beta's Jonny Walker was sec-
ond overall with 2-2-3 results.
There was at least one Ameri-
can on the podium after each
race. FactoryONE Sherco riders
Cody Webb and Cooper Abbott
shared the spotlight on the night.
Webb started the night off with
a third in race one, while he and
Abbott traded positions in race
two. Webb had the best race
of his night in the third outing
where he finished second, split
-
ting winner Bolt from Walker.
Webb was credited with third
overall.
"My mistake in moto one
cost me a better overall posi-
tion tonight," said Webb. "I had
the pace and this track really
suited me well. I was in a big
battle with Billy in moto two, and
I thought I was going to be able
to break his moto win streak. He
had a bobble in the matrix, and
I thought that was my opportu
-
nity, but I came up short on one
