was his first National victory after 12 years on the pro circuit... We had

motocrosser... We also tested the Mazda 1600 pick-up truck. We made
special note of its locking gas cap... Twenty-year-old A.C. Bakken

LOOKING BACKI
David Bailey was featured on the cover of Cycle News for winning
the Anaheim Supercross in front of a sold-out crowd of 70,000. It
was Bailey's first major win, Supercross or motocross. "I'm just glad
it happened here at the first race of the season," Bailey said. "It feels
good; that's all I can say." He won by 30 seconds over Honda teammate
Johnny O'Mara and went on to win the Supercross title that year. Bob
Hannah made his Honda debut at Anaheim and placed fourth... We
tested the 1983 Yamaha YZ125K.
