Supercross Champion Je Stanton was pictured on the cover 30
years ago to accompany our preview of the 1993 Camel Supercross
Championship. We predicted Damon Bradshaw would bounce back
from his "choke" at the final round in '92, which cost him the title, and win
the title in 1993. (Wrong.)... We also had coverage of the opening round
in the same issue. For the second year in a row, Mike LaRocco won the
opener at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in
Florida. This was also the first 250cc
race for Jeremy McGrath as a full-
time Supercross rider. He finished
fourth. We predicted McGrath
"stands a good chance at making
the top five."
Chad Reed captured his first career 250cc Supercross win and was
pictured on the cover 20 years ago. He was the first Australian to
win an AMA Supercross in the premier class, and it also came 10
years after Jeremy McGrath's first 250cc Supercross win. Travis
Preston won the 125cc West class... McGrath oĆcially announced
