ished in fourth after a ninth-place start.
An indeed feisty Roczen finished a respect-
able fifth. He started off in third, ran in second
for a few laps before slipping back a bit, but it
was a promising night for the Suzuki rider.
Colt Nichols made his 450cc-class debut on
the Factory Honda and came home in sixth,
just ahead of Jason Anderson on his Monster
Energy Kawasaki, who got bounced around in
the first turn. Anderson got as high as fifth place
before a small crash dropped him to ninth. He
went on to finish seventh ahead of Red Bull
KTM's Aaron Plessinger and Kawasaki team-
mate Adam Cianciarulo.
Joey Savatgy, on the Rick Ware Kawasaki,
rounded out the top 10.
WILSON'S HONDA DEBUT
Dean Wilson made his debut on the Firepower Honda
team. He didn't have a spectacular night but did
qualify for the 450SX main in which he placed 14th.
"A1 was gnarly," he said. "Track was insane. I wanted
to just make it out alive, to be honest. Result wasn't
great, but we learned a lot with the bike."
LOPES SURPRISES
Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha's Enzo Lopes turned a
few heads Saturday night. He was the top rider in the
first 250SX timed qualifying session and finished sec-
ond to Cameron McAdoo in his heat race. He went on
to finish sixth in the main. He said of his night, "Not
the best main, with a few mistakes early on and a bad
start, but plenty of positives to take away."
Briefly...
Roczen (94) looked feisty on the Suzuki, and
Malcolm Stewart (27) led for several laps.
