Hicks Sweeps Nebraska Arenacross I n Lincoln, Nebraska, January 6-7, Michael Hicks (Honda) continued his winning ways in the 2022-23 Arenacross Outlaws Championship, as he swept both nights of racing in the 250cc divi- sion. The 450cc Pro class wins were split between Hicks and Mike Alessi (Yamaha), with Hicks taking the win on Friday night and Alessi on Saturday night. It's proven to be difficult to beat Hicks in the Arenacross scene this year. The Honda rider has held it down all year with the red number-one plate and kept it up in Nebraska. He stayed up front and led both mains in the 250cc and 450cc division on Friday night. In the 250 division, Alessi and Carter Biese (KTM) rounded out the podium. As for the 450s, Alessi and Carter Gordon (Honda) landed on the box. Fans saw more of the same come Saturday night, as Hicks again took the overall against the field in the 250 class. Alessi and Gordon found themselves on the 250 podium again. The 450cc Pro class saw Alessi finally break through and overtake Hicks for the overall vic- tory. Alessi, riding a 250cc YZ250 two-stroke, edged the competi- tion with 2-1 finishes ahead of Biese and Hicks. Hicks continues to lead the points in both Pro classes. CN Friday Night 450 Pro 1.
