We started the year o– in 1993 with our reviews of the latest Yamaha
YZ125 and YZ250 motocrossers. The YZ250 was pictured on the
cover... We featured an interview with 125cc MX World Champion Greg
Albertyn... Scott Myers was the top rider at the GFI Winter Series/
North MX Series round at Sandhill
Ranch... We had coverage of the
La Playa Grand Prix Masters of
Motocross from Cantamar Dunes,
BC, Mexico.
We opened the year with our 2003 Supercross Season Preview issue,
which featured Chad Reed on the cover... We reported that Jeremy
McGrath was going to announce his retirement from professional
racing, which he'd o¡cially do at a press conference at Edison Field of
Anaheim just before the opening Supercross round. Recent injuries
sped up his decision to call it a career... We tested the 2003 Ducati
749 and 749S sportbike... We remembered speed record-setter Don
Vesco who had recently passed away... We had coverage of Destry
Abbott and Shane Esposito's win at the Las Vegas 300.
