Honda HRC Hosts SX/MX Media Day
T
he Honda HRC Team gathered at Blackmore Ranch
in Murrieta, California, where the media got the
chance to mingle with its five factory-backed riders:
Chase Sexton, Colt Nichols, Jett and Hunter Lawrence,
and fresh from the amateur ranks, Chance Hymas.
Some news was revealed at the function. Honda an-
nounced that Jett and Hunter will be switching regions
for 2023, with Jett, the 2022 East champ, moving over
to the west and Hunter to the east.
"I feel it's better on your resume if you have a champi-
onship on both coasts, so we are going to try to go for
this instead of just east," said Jett. "[Plus] I get to race
different tracks that I haven't raced yet which will help me
when I move up to the 450s full-time next year."
Jett, who will move up to the 450 class for the out-
doors after this year's Supercross Championship, says
he'll start focusing on the 450 when Supercross starts
making its East Coast swing. He added that the limited
time he's had on the 450 so far has been good. In his
words, "It's still a motorcycle."
