Moss, Anstie
Win Australian
Supercross
Triple Crown
T
he Australian Supercross
Championship moved on for
round three in Newcastle, New
South Wales, November 26. This
round was highlighted by the Tri-
ple Crown format, which featured
three main events for the SX1 and
SX2 divisions. Matt Moss and Max
Anstie came away victorious.
Nine-time Australian Super-
cross Champion Matt Moss
took the overall win in the SX1
class after winning the first and
third main events of the night.
Husqvarna Factory Racing's
Dylan Wills posted a strong trio of
results to land second overall and
notch a career first SX1 podium.
American Justin Brayton rounded
out the podium in third.
Brayton and his main rival
Aaron Tanti entered the night tied
on points. The American rider
played it safe while his Aussie
competitor suffered a few mis-
takes and a big crash during the
second main event. Tanti then
suffered a DNF in the third race
which significantly hurt his 2022
title hopes. Brayton now controls
the championship at 67 points to
Moss's 59. Tanti drops to third in
the standings, four points down
from Moss in second.
The SX2 division saw more ex-
citement as British veteran Anstie
won his third overall in a row. The
Australian Honda rider posted 1-1-
3 finishes over Honda teammate
Wilson Todd. Local Rhys Budd
was third.
Anstie holds the SX2 cham-
pionship lead by more than 20
points as the series heads to
Wagga Wagga International
Speedway for the final round.
