Beaubier faces his toughest races at Miller

C
ameron Beaubier is still
the undisputed king of
Daytona SportBike racing, but the gap is narrowing.
Beaubier faced his toughest
overall test of the season at Miller
Motorsports Park with the challenge coming primarily from his
own Yamaha Extended Service/
Graves Yamaha teammate Garrett Gerloff, but also from a pair of
rapidly rising Kentucky residents
in JD Beach and Jake Lewis.
In the end, though, Beaubier
found a way to win in spite of
being challenged right up to the
checkered flag in both races.
He now owns a commanding
86-point lead and will very likely
wrap up the Championship at
Saturday's race at New Jersey
Motorsports Park next month.
While Beaubier is on a glide
path to the title and continues
to win, several of his rivals can
take some solace in that they
are beginning to come level to

prospect.
Especially promising is Gerloff.
The Texan, who just turned 18,
seemed to have turned a corner
in the last round at Laguna Seca,
and that momentum carried over
to Miller. Gerloff qualified second
