Briefly... Going Pro: Matt Bisceglia won't be the only rider moving on to the big leagues after Loretta's, so will one of his main rivals in the amateur ranks, Shan McElrath. Like Bisceglia, McErath has already inked a ride and he won't be going far. The Troy Lee Designs-backed rider will begin his pro career at Unadilla on the Lucas Oil/TLD Honda Team, which has high hopes for its newest member. Luke Renzland, who outdueled Jace Owen for the 450 A-class title and finished third to Bisceglia and McElrath in the 250 A class, will also be heading to Unadilla next week. Bisceglia's Factory Connection teammate Jordon Smith looked super fast all week but crashes in the 250 B class kept him out of title contention. In the Limited class, however, he won all three motos and went home a National Champion. Like with Aaron Plessinger, some feel that Smith won't make it to Loretta's next year before turning pro. Speaking of Jace Owen, he was having the race of his life, leading Matt Bisceglia in the second 250 A moto when he missed timed the jumps in the Ten Commandments section and slammed his face on the handlebars, knocking him dingy. He pulled off the track before continuing on as though nothing had happened. One of KTM's hottest prospects Alix Dakota had a short week. While competing in the 450 A class Wednesday morning in the rain, he fell and had to be helped off the track having suffered a concussion.
