Hicks Holds It At Du Quoin Arenacross
T
he General Tire Arenacross
Outlaws Series saw an-
other doubleheader weekend
for rounds three and four in Du
Quoin, Illinois, November 11-12.
Missouri's Michael Hicks held it
down all weekend, winning both
250cc and 450cc Pro classes
on both nights of racing.
Hicks, sporting the number-
one on his Ti-Lube Honda, was
untouchable for Friday night's
round three. He won both motos
in the 250cc Pro class, tak-
ing the overall with perfect 1-1
scores. Grant Harlan backed up
a strong opening-round perfor-
mance with second overall in
250 Pro, while local Brett Green-
ly took home third.
More of the same in the 450cc
division, as Hicks won the 14-lap
main event on the tight circuit.
This time, though, it was KTM-
mounted Cheyenne Harmon in
second with 6-2 finishes. Green-
ly's 2-3 earned him third overall in
450 Pro.
Saturday's round four saw
Hicks complete another clean
sweep of both 250cc and 450cc
classes. With Hicks up front,
Harlan and Harmon duked it
out for the final 250cc podium.
Harlan ultimately got the edge for
second and held off Harmon who
finished third.
The 450cc class was a car-
bon copy with Hicks, Harlan and
Harmon standing one, two, three
on the podium. With this clean-
sweep weekend, Hicks leads the
points in the 250cc and 450cc
classes going into the next round
in Claremore, Oklahoma.
