A Long Time Coming
Alvaro Bautista's WorldSBK title has been
a long time coming. After his implosion
in 2019 and two years in the Honda
wilderness, the Spaniard returned to
Ducati for 2022 and did what was required,
bringing Ducati its first WorldSBK title
on a four-cylinder machine, the first of
the Panigale era. It was also the second
world title in as many weeks for Bologna
following Pecco Bagnaia's triumph at
Valencia last week.
