Walton was credited with the
holeshot, but when he momen-
tarily dropped his bike, Precision
Concepts Kawasaki's Tyler Lynn
found himself in the lead. He
opened a 10-second gap before
tightness in his forearms crept
in and dropped him to fourth
behind new leader Oliveira, Wal-
ton and Beta's Dare DeMartile.
Lynn, however, fought back and
got back around DeMartile and
started to slowly close in on the
two riders—Oliveira and Wal-
ton—who were ahead of him but
ended up finishing approximately
25 seconds behind Walton.
DeMartile ended up fourth
and Tallon LaFountaine (Honda)
rounded out the top five.
Mateo Oliveira, the 2022 Pro
250 Champion, moved up to the
450cc class for the first time for
this race and took sixth.
In the Pro 250 class, SLR
Honda's Jack Simpson scored a
wire-to-wire victory, which came
a little easier since his season-
long rival, Mateo Oliveira, had
moved up to the 450cc class. It
was a leisurely Sunday ride for
Simpson who took the checkers
with a comfortable one-minute
and 16-second margin over the
runner-up, Kai Aiello (3Bros
Kilmartin Racing Husqvarna).
Aiello held second the whole
way and had room to spare over
the third-place rider, Colton Aeck
(3Bros KTM).
Justin Seeds (Yamaha) and
Thomas Dunn (Yamaha) rounded
out the top five.
Women's Pro Champion Bran-
dy Richards (KTM) dominated
the Pro-Am race. After passing
holeshotter Corbin McPherson
(Husqvarna), who was making
his first appearance in the class,
Richards ran off and hid, tak-
ing the checkers well ahead of
the second-place rider, Mason
Decunzo (KTM) out of Las Ve-
gas. Decunzo also got around
McPherson on the first lap and
held second the whole way.
Decunzo held a slight points lead
over Richards for second place
in the championship and he man-
aged to take the spot just three
points ahead of Richards. Collier
Martinez had already clinched
the class' number-one plate and
did not ride.
McPherson finished out his
first Pro-Am race on the podium.
Hayden Florez (Yamaha) and
Max Shapiro (Husqvarna) com-
pleted the top five.
