wasaki) started 14th and finished
fourth, having to pass some top
riders, one of whom being fifth-
placed Nikki Tuuli (MV Agusta
Reparto Corse). Stefano Manzi
(Dynavolt Triumph) had a tough
race to seventh when his slipper
clutch started to malfunction on
downshifts, and he ran on more
than once.
Lorenzo Baldassarri (Evan Bros
Yamaha) lost lots of ground to Ae-
gerter in the championship fight
in finishing ninth.
In the second race De Rosa
was holding a clear lead after
some early fights with Carica-
sulo until he lost the front and
fell. Nothing can be certain with
Aegerter about, but it did look like
enough space to those following
to have had a real go at that first
tantalizing Ducati V2 Panigale win.
Once again, another late
charge from Aegerter saw him
take all 25 points. Baldassarri was
in the lead on the last lap until
Aegerter rushed past on the in-
side of the turn eight/nine double
corner. Balda's defensive attempt
ran him wide and off track, finally
allowing Caricasulo to pass him
for second place.
It was a pretty firm pass from
Aegerter on Balda but the authori-
ties held their peace. With the top
three covered by 0.839 seconds,
Tuuli took his MV to fourth place,
with Stefano Manzi (Dynavolt
Triumph) fifth.
In the championship points
Aegerter has 424, Baldassari has
352—a deficit of 72 with a maxi-
mum of 100 points left for any
single rider, leaving more hope
than expectation now for Baldas-
sarri.
