The teams woke up to the
sound of steady rain and very
muddy track conditions, which
made the U.S. team a little
nervous; the last time the U.S.
hosted the MXoN was at Red-
Bud in similar conditions, things
didn't turn out so well. This time,

Dylan Ferrandis won the qualifying race
over Chase Sexton and set the fastest
mes in every Sunday race. Despite being
the fastest rider on the day, Ferrandis' re-
sults didn't bring the tally they needed for
an overall win. "I gave everything today,"
he said. "I was not very lucky in moto one,
and then I threw away the win in moto
two. I was a li le bit disappointed with
that, but I regrouped well and that helped
us to second today. This was the best
we could do. I would like to congratulate
the home team, USA. They were very
strong today and they had the crowd fully
behind them, which just made me look
forward to next year when we are on my
home soil in France."
3 MATTIA GUADAGNINI
3RD / 19TH (OPEN)
Italy's Ma a Guadagnini put on a strong
showing in race two (Open/MX2) as he
led most of the moto and later finished
third. The Red Bull GasGas rider who
led Team Italy to the MXoN victory on
home soil last year, was pleased with his
first-race performance, but crashes in his
second moto le him a lap down by the
Tomac (101) got things off on
the right foot for Team USA
by getting a good start in the
first moto (MXGP/MX2) and
going on to win. He was the
only U.S. moto winner.
