ake Gagne has made it two MotoAmerica
Superbike titles in a row after taking first- and
second-place finishes at Barber Motorsports
Park in Alabama.
The Colorado resident took 12 race wins in
2022 but in a season that included three non-
finishes, he and Ducati's Danilo Petrucci went into
the final round separated by just four points with
50 left to play for.
Gagne made the perfect start to the Barber
round by taking pole position and rocketing clear
to a 5.4-second win over Westby Racing's Mathew
Scholtz. Petrucci could only manage third, giving
Gagne a 13-point lead going into race two.
Jake Gagne made
everyone at Yamaha
sweat on it, but got the
job done in race two.
