Rins joined the back of the group in ninth, but couldn't overtake—a fine recov- ery after he rejoined from his first lap excursion in last place. Marco Bezzecchi (VR46 Ducati) was 10th. Quartararo's (211 points) second DNF of the year means his advantage is slashed to 10 points. Bagnaia (201) is lurking, with Espargaro (194) and Bas- tianini (163) in touch. Moto2 He may not have fought for the championship this year as everyone was expecting. But Pedro Acosta (Ajo Kalex), once again, showed he has come into his own in the Moto2 class as the rookie romped to a dominant win, just 12 weeks after fractur- ing his left femur. This was far from a given on the first lap. Teammate and polesitter Augusto Fernandez (Ajo Kalex) claimed an early lead from Jake Dixon (Aspar Kalex) and Aron Canet (Pons Kalex), while possible challeng- ers Alonso Lopez (Speed Up Boscoscuro) and Albert Arenas (Aspar Kalex) crashed out at turn two and turn 16 on laps one and two, respectively. But Acosta made quick progress from fifth on lap one to second by the fourth circuit. Once there, Fernandez had already built up a 1.8 second lead. That quickly came down. He effortlessly drafted past his teammate on the back straight the 10th time around before eking out 2.6 seconds for a fa- mous win. Rather than pursuing the new leader, Fernandez soon turned attentions to defending second from Canet. He was unsuccessful, with his compa- triot nabbing a sixth runner up position of the year on lap 19. Fernandez (214 points) ex- tends his lead over Ogura (207) to seven points, with Canet (177) still in touch. Moto3 Polesitter Izan Guevara (Aspar GasGas) produced a timely display of control to put daylight into his title rivals with five races to spare.
