ROUND 9 / SEPTEMBER 9-11, 2022 NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK / MILLVILLE, NJ P60 ROAD RACE I FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP STOCK 1000 The single Stock 1000 race of the weekend saw the victory go to Hayden Gillim on the Disrupt Racing Suzuki GSX-R1000. The Kentuckian got the better of a relentless Travis Wyman (Tytlers Cycle/RideHVMC Racing BMW) by 0.247 seconds in damp conditions, the two riders clear- ing off out front with current and two-time Daytona 200 Champion Brandon Paasch (Altus Motors- ports Suzuki) third, 4.2 seconds in arrears and just ahead of Stefano Mesa (Mesa37 Racing Kawasaki). Fifth place at New Jersey was enough for Corey Alexan- der (Tytlers Cycle/RideHVMC Racing BMW) to take his long- awaited second national cham- pionship after sealing the 2013 Supersport East series, back when the championship was split into two under the DMG management. Alexander holds a title-sealing 25-point lead over Gillim with one race remaining, 192-167, with Wyman third at 156. TWINS CUP BobbleHeadMoto Yamaha's Blake Davis put on a dominant display in the only Twins Cup race at New Jersey, heading home Benjamin Gloddy (Robem Engineering Aprilia) by 3.01 seconds and Gloddy's teammate Teagg Hobbs. It was a clutch result for Davis as the 16-year-old now pulls a 15-point gap in the standings Herrin now holds an unassail- able 93-point lead, 342-249, over Landers with 50 points up for grabs at Barber to finish off the year. Third is Suzuki's Tyler Scott with 202 points, who didn't have a great weekend by his standards with a DNF in race one followed by a sixth place in race two on the Vision Wheel M4 Ecstar Suzuki. stretched his lead out to 10.836 seconds at the flag over Mesa and Smith, with Herrin holding off an inspired Jaret Nassaney (Altus Motorsports Suzuki) in the latter's best ride of the season. Hayden Gillim (69) won the New Jersey Stock 1000 battle, but it was Corey Alexander winning the war. Evergreen Josh Hayes captured a record-tying 86th career win in national-level competition when he topped the Supersport race.
