KTM Introduces SX-E 3
K
TM's family of e-bikes now
includes the SX-E 3. KTM de-
scribes the SX-E 3 as a beginner-
friendly e-mini "that joins the KTM
Freeride E-XC and KTM SX-E 5
MX bike.
KTM says the SX-E 3 and 5
share the same permanent mag-
net electric motor, but the 3 has
a lower output of 3.8 kW com-
pared to the 5's 5 kW. The SX-E
3 also has a lower seat height
and 10-inch wheels.
Housed in a die-cast aluminum
battery casing, 60 Li-Ion cells
provide a capacity of 648 Wh in
a low 48 V configuration (KTM
SX-E 5 equals 84 Li-Ion cells with
907 Wh), resulting in approxi-
mately two hours of ride time
between charges.
Other highlights include WP
Xact 35mm forks, single-shock
rear suspension with 5.2 inches
of wheel travel, tapered alumi-
num handlebars with ODI lock-
on grips, and adjustable seat
height (from 23.6 inches to 21.8
inches).
Claimed weight is 86.4
pounds.
Availability begins in October.
