For Bou
T
oni Bou, of the Repsol Honda Trial
Team, can add yet another title to his
long list of accomplishments—he's now
the 2022 X-Trial World Champion.
The Montesa rider mathematically
sealed the deal when it was announced
during the week that the final round of the
2022 X-Trial World Championship had
been canceled. With now just one round
left, Bou has enough points to clinch the
title, his 16th in X-Trial competition.
With four wins out of four indoor races this year,
Bou has accrued a total of 87 points in the indoor
season, 20 per win, plus bonus points for having
won seven of the eight total laps held. This has
led to a 30-point advantage over Adam Raga in
second place. With one trial left to go, in Andorra,
October 8, and with a maximum score of only 22
points up for grabs, Bou can't be headed.
