T
he swings and roundabouts of
MotoAmerica 2022 settled down
somewhat in Pennsylvania, with
Jake Gagne (Fresh N Lean Progressive
Yamaha Racing YZF-R1) immediately tak-
ing back the title lead he surrendered in a
haze of smashing carbon fiber and alumi-
num during Brainerd's race-two crash.
The Colorado man put the hammer well
and truly down in the North East, taking
pole position by a massive 0.8 seconds
over chief title rival Danilo Petrucci (War-
horse HSBK Racing Ducati NYC Panigale
V4 SBK) and enduring three starts thanks
to red flags caused first by Jeremy Cof-
fey (Triple M Suzuki) and then by a retiring
Ezra Beaubier (Motorsport Exotica Orange
Cat BST Racing BMW) to cruise to a two-
second win, again over Petrucci.

Two rounds to go and Jake Gagne has retaken the
lead of the 2022 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship
by a single point with 100 left to play for
