Hampshire simply rode away from the rest of the pack, looking as if he'd been there all season long. Moto two saw the number-24 charge 'til the end and make a decisive pass that earned him the and eager to keep that momentum rolling. But it was RJ Hampshire who had plans of his own and rode to his first victory of the season. A great start for Hampshire put him up front in moto one. He duked it out with Michael Mosi- man in the early stages of the "In moto two, I got shuffled off the start and wasn't able to get to the front as early as I wanted to," Tomac said. "It was frustrating to- wards the end of the race. I just had a harder time getting past guys in moto two. I need to do a bit of work and get it figured out, but can't complain too much, gaining points on the day." Ken Roczen found himself back on the box at Budds Creek. After starting the season strong and even winning the Thunder Valley National, the 94 machine has been in a bit of a slump lately. Roczen's day started with the fastest qualifying time and good starts in both motos put him at the front of the field. He led five total laps en route to the final spot on the overall podium, his first since the win in Colo- rado. Roczen is fourth in points, 25 back from Anderson. "It's been a long time since I've been up here," Roczen said. "We're stepping in the right di- rection. Overall, we made some changes, but podiums are hard to get these days, at least for me, never mind winning. I was just excited, I had good speed this morning. In the end, I was able to put up a fight and found myself on the podium." 250MX After spending more time on the ground last weekend than the whole season combined, Jett Lawrence looked to rebound at Budds Creek. Jo Shimoda was fresh off his second overall win Chase Sexton (23) had the red plate for one full moto before handing it back to Tomac.
