Always competitive whenever he shows up, despite increasingly rare race entries, Kolkman raced out to the early lead. Polesitter Texter got a poor start and Janisch a terrific one, bringing the two together off the line despite starting from oppo- site ends of the grid. Kolkman bobbled on the jump at mid-distance, allowing Lewis and Janisch by. And then the top four bunched up late as Janisch tried to find a way around the outside of Lewis. A late red flag and subse- quent restart gifted Janisch the opening he needed, and he blasted by off the line to take the win. Lewis finished second, while Texter grabbed third, the beneficiary of a clash between good sense suggested it would: Title leader and TT standout Jesse Janisch took the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson to a fifth win of '22, ex-Supermoto pilot Johnny Lewis came home sec- ond on the factory Royal Enfield, and defending class champion Cory Texter earned a respect- able third to keep his hopes for a third class crown with G&G Rac- ing Yamaha very much alive. The details weren't quite that simple. Janisch was well on his way to another complete sweep when he made a big mistake in his Semi and was t-boned mid- crash by Lewis. Texter, meanwhile, won the Semi and would have been well positioned to pull off the upset with Janisch forced to start from the back of the pack for the Main, had he not been riding under the weather and sapped ROUND 12 / AUGUST 14, 2022 CASTLE ROCK RACE PARK / CASTLE ROCK, WASHINGTON P98 FLAT TRACK I PROGRESSIVE AMERICAN FLAT TRACK Jesse Janisch notched his fifth Production Twins win of the year.
