MOTOCROSS I LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
seven seconds. Moto two saw a
strong fight to the end with team-
mate Cameron McAdoo, with
Shimoda showing no signs of
giving up despite already being
in contention for the overall win.
A valiant third in moto two solidi-
fied his position as the overall
victor. Shimoda is currently third
in points, 14 down from Hunter
Lawrence.
"I judged where I was at and
knew I was in the overall posi-
tion," said Shimoda. "I just
wanted to keep fighting and fin-
ish the moto strong. I ended up
tipping over and made it harder
on myself, but I'm really happy
with this result."
nearly two full seconds faster
than Ken Roczen's time in the
450 class. In the end though,
mistakes put Lawrence on the
ground and off the podium,
while Pro Circuit Kawasaki's
Jo Shimoda took his second
overall of the season.
Shimoda is the only winner
besides Jett this summer in the
250 class, and he proved that
his earlier success at RedBud
was no joke. The young Japa-
nese rider inherited the lead
early on in moto one after Justin
Cooper crashed, and Shimoda
proceeded to walk away from
the rest of the field, stamping
his win with a margin of over
ally coming out with the podium
spot. His 3-3 scores gave him
third overall.
"After you get third enough
times, this step of the podium
can kind of feel like a bummer,"
Anderson said. "I'm happy to be
up here and I feel like I'm making
progress, but those guys in front
of me are just ripping right now."

Things were almost becoming
a bit predictable in the 250
class with Jett Lawrence win-
ning seven of the eight overalls

carbon copy again at Unadilla
after Jett's qualifying time was
