NILS Honda Fills Out WSX Grid T he 10th and final team has been announced for the upcoming World Supercross Championship (WSX). The Honda NILS team will round out the WSX the grid. The team is led by former Women's World Champion Livia Lancelot. Lancelot has been a staple in the MXGP scene, managing the 114 Honda team for several years now. While the Honda NILS team is listed as Italian, this partnership with Lancelot is likely to have connections with her current team and other Honda MXGP brass. Riders for the team (two SX1 and two SX2 riders) have yet to be announced. "We are excited to get to work and believe we will make a strong showing during the pilot FIM World Supercross Champion- ship season," said Lancelot. "Our 'off-season' is only a few weeks, so we are quickly working to get riders and crew members under contract, and bikes ready to race, all while tackling the logistics a global series requires. It's a great challenge, and we are ready to face it." CN BMST/AMA Land Speed Grand Championship Canceled D ue to flooding from a significant storm and multiple subsequent storm systems in Northern Utah, the 2022 AMA Land Speed Grand Championship on the Bonneville Salt Flats near Wendover, Utah, has been canceled, along with the FIM Land Speed World Records. The event's assessment team, led by Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials (BMST) promoter Delvene Reber, reviewed current conditions of the Bonn- eville Salt Flats both by air and on the ground on August 12 and 13, and determined that all track locations and alternatives are still flooded. With between four and 10 inches of water in many places, the team determined there's no pos- sibility the water will recede and the salt will dry sufficiently in time for track preparations and opera- tions to begin. "We are all disappointed that we are forced to cancel," said Reber. "We have spent a year plus preparing for this event and investing in improve- ments." Reber added that BMST will be in touch directly with participants soon with further information. Additional updates will be provided on the event website at BonnevilleMST.com.
