Janisch was on track to replicate exactly what he'd ac- complished at the two previous rounds, where he swept every practice and qualifying session, won his Semi, and dominated the main event. However, the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson rider's ef- forts to complete three perfect weekends in succession came unraveled halfway into the deci- sive contest, first when he was overtaken by the charging Rush and a short while later when he also lost a position to title rival Cory Texter. And despite having previously scored wins in the premier class Morgen Mischler (13) gave Brunner (not pictured) a battle. Singles points leader Kody Kopp finished down in the field but still leads comfortably.
