teammate Brandon Robinson in
what was actually a positive per-
formance considering his past
TT woes. He was followed by
Mission Production Twins Chal-
lenger Jesse Janisch, who might
have been a podium contender if
he had not started from the back
of the pack already gassed.
Unlike Janisch, Ben Lowe
focused all his efforts on the pre-
mier class at Peoria and rode the
Rackley Racing/Mission Foods
Indian FTR750 to ninth, one spot
ahead of Latus Motors Harley-
Davidson's Bronson Bauman.
Following his fourth, Mees
continues to lead the title fight.
But with his three closest com-
petitors all finishing in front of
him at Peoria, the championship
Built Kawasaki Ninja 650 but
found his race package not quite
up to snuff when dicing with
other riders. In the main, he ran
in sixth early, dropped back as

Cole Zabala finished on the Parts Unlim-
ited AFT Singles podium at Peoria last
year, but s ll had yet to find the fast way
around the twisty circuit on a twin coming
into this year's edi on. While he couldn't
match last year's runner-up, his fi h-place
result equaled his best finish of the year.
Zabala said, "The day was great. First me
on a twin at Peoria. We're learning all the
me. I had a li le get-off in qualifying just
overriding. I knew that was my limit to
push, so we backed it down a li le and
rode really well consistently. I wish the
track came to us a li le more, but it was a
lot of fun."
Dallas Daniels made
it two Estenson
Yamahas on the
SuperTwins podium.
Mees, fourth on
the day, now has
just a three-
point lead in
the SuperTwins
Championship.
