McGrath To Be Honored With Award
S
even-time Supercross and
former 250cc National
Motocross Champion Jeremy
McGrath has been named the
recipient of the 2022 Edison Dye
Motocross Lifetime Achievement
Award, presented by Glen Helen
Raceway and Dubya USA.
While McGrath was becoming
known as primarily a Supercross
specialist, he was also a formi-
dable motocross rider, winning the
AMA 250cc MX Championship in
1995.
During his career, McGrath
rode for Kawasaki, Honda,
Suzuki, Yamaha and even KTM
for a brief time. He was the first
rider to own and ride for his own
factory-backed team.
He announced his retirement
before the opening round of the
2003 AMA Supercross Series
in Anaheim. Though retired from
full-time Supercross and mo-
tocross competition, McGrath
continued his racing career after
being inducted into the Motor-
cycle Hall of Fame.
This year's ceremony will take
place Saturday, November 5, at
Glen Helen Raceway. There will
be a meet and greet from 4:30
p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The award
presentation will commence at
5:30 p.m., followed by an auto-
graph session with McGrath and
other prior recipients at the Glen
Helen Museum.

Ducati and the red flag came out to stop
the race.
The result was called, no second
restart, and thus the championship lead
from Aegerter to Baldassari was cut to
only 14 points. Bulega was second in
race two and Manzi, running well on his
Triumph and starting from 20th place on
the grid, was third.
In the championship points Aegerter
has 245, Baldassarri 231, Bulega 147,
Oncu 112 and Manzi 108.
