Razgatlioglu was maybe going to drop off, as Bautista gapped Rea out front, the Turk attacked. First it was to Rea with eight to go and then he went inside Bautista at turn 20, with seven to go. Rea made a slight mistake at turn 10 and that was his chance of better than third place gone. Redding was fourth in the finale, with Bassani fifth on a regular Ducati customer bike. Garrett Gerloff had an up and down weekend. The GRT Yamaha WorldSBK rider said, "We had a good Tissot Super- pole session, starting from the second row was a strong point. In race one, I enjoyed a good start, but the first two corners are really tight and tough to man- age, so I lost a bit of time there. Overall, the pace was fine, but unfortunately the final position is not where we want to be. "Sunday was a bittersweet day. In the Superpole race, unfortunately we did not use the soft tire; I tried my best but it didn't pay off. In race two, the feeling was really good and we were about to get our best result of the year, before the tire blew out. I tried to finish the race in first gear. It's such a shame. I'm gutted for myself and the whole team, I'm so sorry for them." In the points, Bautista has 298, Rea 267 and Razgatlio- glu 260. A three-way fight for the crown is still very much on. Locatelli is the best of the rest with 148. WorldSSP It was all stop-and-go in WorldSSP this weekend, for one big name in particular. On a new- ly dry track, Lorenzo Baldassarri secured pole, the second of his career, with a 1:34.952—exactly the same pace as the new all- time best lap set by Dominique Aegerter (Ten Kate Yamaha) on Friday. The first race was a self- earned gift for Baldassarri (Evan Bros) after a multiple rider pileup into the too-tight turn one saw Aegerter crash and get up, then lie down again immediately. Stefano Manzi (Dynavolt Tri- umph) gave his British bike and team their first podium together, and Triumph's best WorldSSP result ever in second place. He had been 21st on the grid, which made his charge to the runner- up spot both remarkable and yet soon-to-be-repeatable. Third was 2021 contender Steven Odendaal (Kallio Yamaha) in a strong return from the WorldSSP wilderness. Standing in for the injured Jules Cluzel, Valentin Debise (GMT94) was fourth in race one. Race two started without Ae- gerter, although evidently fully fit. The organizers ruled his attempt to have race one red-flagged—af- ter his gravel-trap actions—saw him ordered to miss race two as a punishment. The sanction read, "…you simulated a medi- cal situation in order to delay the recovery process and in this way to force the stoppage of the race by a red flag. This is confirmed by your admission of such in a written document." That no-show gave "Balda" another chance and he again took it, albeit in weird circum- stances. He had just taken the lead from Nicolo Bulega and his IN THE WIND P40 Lorenzo Baldassarri came away with a double win in Supersport.
