rendered beatable again after
completely owning the class at
its previous four stops.
Kopp's Red Bull KTM Factory
Racing teammate Max Whale
made sure the orange and blue
still had a view from the top step
on the podium, however.
Whale made relatively quick
work of early leader Trevor
Brunner and raced away at the
front while his biggest potential
challengers—Kopp very much
included—were stacked up and
struggling to find their own path
by the Estenson Racing rider.
Kopp sat frustrated behind
Brunner for long enough to get
overhauled himself by Turner
Racing Honda's Morgen Mis-
chler. Mischler finally dropped
from being decided and, unlike
Saturday, the opportunities for
overtaking should be anything
but curtailed.
"To get this win is great,"
Beach said. "It's unbelievable
that Henry won 14 in a row
because two in a row has been
tough enough. It was a good
day, and I can't thank my team
enough. They've worked so
hard, and we've got a great bike.
We've still got half the year to go.
It's going to be fun."
AFT SINGLES
It took the addition of a right
turn and a jump—and probably a
bad start too—but Parts Unlim-
ited AFT Singles Championship
dominator Kody Kopp was finally
race tightened considerably for a
third consecutive race.
Bauman is now just three
points back (188-185) with Dan-
iels also within striking distance at
172. Race winner Beach was the
biggest mover, and now stands
less than 30 points back (159)
after winning for the fifth time in
the series' most recent six TTs.
While that still sounds like a
big gap, consider that Beach will
be the heavy race favorite when
Progressive AFT does battle
near his birthplace for the Castle
Rock TT. And don't forget just
how fast the MT-07 DTs were
at the Red Mile with three more
Miles looming ahead.
In other words, this year's
championship fight is a long way
