X Games Gold Handed Out

nce again, the world's best
action-sports athletes com-
peted at the X Games, which
was held on July 21 in Ramona,
California. Moto X is still a staple
of the week's events, with disci-
plines like Freestyle, Best Whip,
Best Trick and Quarterpipe High
Air dominating the skies. This
year, all Moto X events were held
at Axell Hodges' compound,
Slayground, outside of San
Diego.
FREESTYLE
Australia's Rob Adelberg
stomped the competition in his
first run with back-to-back front
flips which ultimately earned him
the gold medal. He completed
the successive front flips 20
years after Mike Metzger landed
his infamous back-to-back back-
flips at the 2002 Philadelphia X
Games. Germany's Luc Acker-
mann grabbed the silver medal
just ahead of Australian Josh
Sheehan.
