Musquin Stays Put M arvin Musquin will stay with Red Bull KTM after signing a one-year contract agreement with the team. It's a Supercross- only deal that will see the 32-year-old in the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series for at least one more season. "I'm very excited, this is exactly what I was looking for in the new season—to be part of the Red Bull KTM team—where I have been for 12 years here in America and 14 years total with KTM. It's very special for me to still be around Frankie [Lathrum, Mus- quin's long-time mechanic] and the whole team, and to be based in California like I did for the 2022 season. I'm looking forward to improving the new bike even more and learning even more with more time coming up." "Marvin has been racing for Red Bull KTM since the summer of 2009 and he will be going into his 14th year with the brand, which is nearly unheard of for a rider and team," said team man- ager Ian Harrison. "After winning the 250SX title in 2015, Marvin moved to the 450cc class in 2016 and he has been extremely competitive throughout the years. This 2022 SX race season was no different and the Red Bull KTM team is confident he will carry the 2022 momentum into the 2023 race season." Musquin will again be joined by teammates Cooper Webb and Aaron Plessinger, who is current- ly midway through his two-year deal with the team. CN IN THE WIND P28 Marvin Musquin signed a one-year, Supercross-only contract extension with the Red Bull KTM Team. Tomac Wins ESPY Award E li Tomac was awarded ESPN's prestigious ESPY Award in Best Athlete, Men's Action Sports category. Tomac becomes the second super- cross/motocross athlete to be honored with the award. Ryan Dungey won it twice in back-to- back years in 2015 and 2016. Tomac went up again American freestyle skier and 2022 Olympic Gold Medalist, Alexander Hall, Japanese skateboarder and 2020 Olympic Gold Medalist, Yuto Horigome, and Japanese snow- boarder and 2022 Olympic Gold Medalist, Ayumu Hirano. Tomac thanked his fans via so- cial media: "Hey everyone! I just wanted to say thank you for voting for me in the ESPN ESPY Male Action Sports Category. We won it! Thank you to all of the super- cross fans around the world. We had an incredible 2022 season. None of this would be possible without the support of my fam- ily, my team, the crew, everyone involved. As you know, in motors- ports it's hard enough to just make it to the starting lines so to clinch the championship this year was so special for everyone involved. And I feel like this year was a great comeback year for myself as a rider and as an athlete, and I'm enjoying it more than ever. So, once again, thank you and we'll see you in 2023!" CN
