ROUND 7 / JULY 16, 2022
SPRING CREEK MX / MILLVILLE, MINNESOTA
P70
MOTOCROSS I LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
moto two benefitted Jett, as
he holeshotted and practically
went untouched for 30-plus-two
laps. Add up another overall win
for Jett. This makes six wins in
seven rounds, now taking the
points lead to 27 over Hunter.
"The first one was definitely
a dog fight," Jett said. "It was a
battle for the whole thing with
Hunter, but the second one was
a bit easier. I got that gap and
then just maintained to see if Jo
[Shimoda] would make a push or
if I had to step it up."
Jo Shimoda continues his hot
streak as he snuck into sec-
ond overall with 3-2 finishes.
in the past few races, staying off
the ground, but I still need to be
right with these guys if I want to
race them. I didn't accomplish
that today, but it's still a step in
the right direction."

The 250cc class also saw an-
other 1-1 sweep, but not without
a bit of drama. Jett Lawrence
battled his brother Hunter for
most of the first moto before lap-
pers got in the way and gave the
upper hand to the number one.
The two took it down to the wire,
finishing just a half-second apart
at the line. A red-flag restart in
still run up front if he avoids the
first-turn carnage. Anderson has
come through the pack in the
past few rounds but made life
easy on himself at round seven.
A third in moto one and a fourth
in moto two were two consistent
finishes that the Kawasaki rider
needed. He's in a close fight for
the final podium spot in overall
points, only four up on Ken Roc-
zen. If Anderson can stay off the
ground and string together a few
more results like this, he'll be
back to his Hangtown form.
"It was nice to get some re-
demption," Anderson said. "I put
myself up there more than I have
Jett Lawrence led the 250s to 1-1 finishes.
