Bou Doubles Up In Germany
R
epsol Honda's Toni Bou won
both rounds of the FIM Trial-
GP Championship in Neunkirch-
en, Germany, July 9-10.
Despite the challenging
sections, Bou cruised through
both laps taking the victory over
Vertigo's Jaime Busto with a
10-point cushion. Beta's Mat-
teo Grattarola was third, just five
points behind Busto and just one
point ahead of Sherco's Jeroni
Fajardo.
GasGas rider Miquel Gela-
bert was fifth, two points behind
Fajardo.
Bou, however, didn't have it as
easy on the second day of com-
petition, Sunday. He was second
after the first lap but regrouped
and kept the mistakes to a mini-
mum come away with the overall
victory. Bou completed the sec-
ond lap with 15 points, bettering
Grattarola and Busto's 25.
"I'm very satisfied with the
weekend here in Germany," Bou
said Sunday. "It was a tough
and uncomfortable race, both
yesterday and today. We knew
that we could not make any
mistakes on the second day. We
made two serious errors on the
first lap, although we were lucky
that everyone also made a little
mistake. Going into the second
lap, we knew that the rider who
didn't make a mistake would be
the winner, so I tried my best.
We made a small slip-up on Zone
6, although I also wanted to limit
that, since conceding a five there
could have meant losing the
race. Finally, the last two zones
were where we had to attack and
do well. Fortunately, everything
worked out and we won the race
at Zone 11."
